Save Mart: Taking Grocery Shopping Innovation to Another Level (Plus a GIVEAWAY! Details Inside.)
Ok, so a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending Save Mart’s Flagship store Grand Opening in Modesto, CA. There was a ribbon-cutting with some of Modesto’s top community leaders, a marching band, live music, and lots of food & drinks!
I had a personal tour of the store, and I’ll be honest, I did not anticipate a grocery store to be so interesting, or to have so many special features! Save Mart companies have created a space and environment beyond just an easy and enjoyable shopping experience. You can spend half the day there. Have some lunch, grocery shop, have dinner for the night chopped and prepped for you all at the same time!
The Save Mart team is made up of 135 members including Wine, Beer & Liquor specialists, your Cheese expert, and the crew in the Grill & Meat Department ready to help you plan your next party. Do you need food & beverage pairings for your next party? Create a customized charcuterie platter with your favorite local cheese vendors. AND if you’re having a BBQ...Save Mart can prepare your entire meal! From the meats, marinates, and dry rubs, your neighborhood Grill Specialists have you covered.
I’m a busy mom of three, and I’m not going to lie, making dinner every night has not been my favorite activity lately. Save Mart has soooo many options for quick and easy dinner nights. There’s a hot and cold food bar including three types of ceviches, along with your favorite classics at the deli. Oh, and I must note the salads and side dishes menu changes seasonally, so there’s always something new to anticipate! Ready-made meals are also available. Taco night kits with everything you need included. Salmon, meatloaf, eggplant parmigiana, pasta, and so many more options.

This flagship store also includes a frozen section kiosk from Cadence Kitchen which is gourmet chef-prepared meals frozen at the peak of freshness with liquid nitrogen. The company was nice enough to send me some samples of their meals that are also available in-store. I loved everything I tried! The family favorites included their beef stew, chicken curry, and jambalaya. Plus, you’ll have dinner ready in 15 minutes!

There’s also a restaurant in store called The Tipping Point which features their in-house smoked tri-tip served five different ways. Pair your torta or street tacos with on tap beer & wine, and enjoy indoor & outdoor seating with big screen TVs. Another great feature of the Tipping Point is their garden beds located outside. It’s maintained by the local Empire 4H Garden Club and Kiernan Klovers 4H Horticulture clubs which teaches kids about agriculture and growing their own food. They’ll also be hosting a farmers market in front of the store twice a year to raise money for the clubs!
What I also loved about this store was their dedication to supporting local businesses in every department. The Bakery Bar features Mexican pastries and sweetbreads from a local panaderia. The wine and beer departments feature local wineries and breweries. Save Mart also stocks local produce from surrounding farms, and everything is labeled so you know exactly where it came from. I also fell in love with a local brand they carried called Mobaak, an aromatherapy, plant-based bath and beauty line. I bought two of their all-purpose aromatherapy sprays, and I’ve gotten compliments every time I wear it. Their whole range in handmade, and available in-store, online, and at their brick and mortar shop in Modesto. (@mobaakaromatherapy)
Special Store Features
The Beer Cave is a giant cooler filled with 550 varieties and sizes of beer (and kombuchas!). There’s a beer guide AND you can build your own 4-packs.
The Fresh Juice Bar creates custom and pre-made juices and smoothies. They also cut your fruits and produce for you while you shop!
Ways Save Mart is supporting the community of Modesto
The Save Mart Companies C.A.R.E.S Foundation has donated $30,000 last month for the development of the new Awesome Spot accessibility playground down the block from the store. The park is aimed to provide inclusion for children with all physical and mental abilities. The park features play activities that expose children to the five senses through music, textures, colors, motions, and cause and effect activities.
The "Love our Neighbors" initiative is a web portal designed to provide information about ways to volunteer and donate in the community. Save Mart gifted $20,000 for the coordination of homeless services within this network.
Not to mention the 100+ jobs created in-store.
Save Mart’s flagship store is more than a new grocery store, it’s committed to providing healthy foods and promoting healthy communities.
